Marooned with Music Registration

In this workshop, students will practice the art of listening and explore a range of music genres from Baroque and Blues to Space Rock and Swing. We’ll find the songs that offer solace when we feel stranded on our own desert islands, and we’ll learn how to use music as inspiration to write stories, poems, comics and songs.
Suggested grade range: 2nd-6th
Workshops are free to kids in the Birmingham area, but registration is required. Students may register to drop in for one workshop or attend all sessions. The grade levels listed above are meant as a guideline for parents to determine whether or not a workshop is suitable for their children. Students need to be able to read and write independently to attend DISCO workshops. Students are not permitted to use cellphones during workshops. DISCO follows the Birmingham City School Calendar and Closings.
