On Friday, April 19, 2024, from midnight until midnight, readers from around the world will fuel the Desert Island Supply Co.’s 11th annual Epic Read-A-Thon — a 24-hour, nonstop, out-loud virtual reading of classic picture books. Will you join us and celebrate the books that shaped us as children and that we continue to recall and revere throughout our lives? 

All proceeds from the read-a-thon will directly support the All City Writers Corps, a collective of more than 700 students in Birmingham City Schools who participate in weekly writing workshops. With your support, DISCO can continue to work alongside these young writers as they read, write, and publish their work in our annual anthologies, broadsides, and chapbooks.
