Comic Club Spring 2022 Registration
Thursdays, April 7th - May 12th
4-5:30pm / In-Person
Comic Club is DISCO’s longest running after-school workshop, and after a hiatus it is back! In Comic Club, students will hang out with other comics/manga lovers, talk about their favorite books, share tips on drawing and learn from professional comic book artists and writers. Comic Club will explore how writers tell their own stories through comics, graphic novels, and many other creative ways. Club members will receive a journal for developing their art and writing, working toward the goal of creating a class zine at the end of the season.
Suggested grade range: 2nd - 5th grade
All In-Person workshops are held at DISCO located at 5500 1st Ave N Birmingham, AL 35212. Workshops are free, but registration is required. Participants need to be able to read and write independently to attend DISCO workshops. Students above suggested age range are welcome to join as student volunteers. They will be held to DISCO’s volunteer standards, and should email Emily before registering. Masks will be required for all ages.
